tokyo trip - part 2

Tokyo's baby-friendly in that people seemed genuinely delighted to be in the company of babies. And you can always find family bathrooms in public places (daddy, mommy and baby share one bathroom), there are diaper changing stations even in male toilets, and there are special baby seats in the cubicles when mommy desperately needs to pee (although, I would be a little squeamish about leaving my offspring in a public restroom seat where the little tyke can have a free rein in touching all surfaces.) Having said that, it's also one of the most baby-unfriendly places.... restaurants are so tiny you really don't have space for your pram, there's cigarette smoke oozing from every human pore.

We did have fun though - we actually didn't realize we had fun until we came home and looked at the pictures. Funny eh? I guess, having a kid does change things up a bit - you react a little slower than before, and you redefine "fun".

{Eric and I saw this mini TV show "Stand Up!" before we were pregnant with Christian. We like it a lot. But Eric really like it a lot - we realized it was filmed in Shinagawa (where we were staying) and so one morning, we decided to hunt down the playground where the show was filmed.}

{You can tell Eric is really excited but a little too shy to be seen having a picture taken in front of a slide, so he used Christian as a prop. Christian is oblivious to being "used".}

{And before we knew it, our trip was coming to an end... back to the airport limo, back to the airport, back to the plane (some serious meltdown at around 11 pm!), back to the muggy climate.}
