marriage and childbirth, life's most memorable moments, have something in common. people experiencing them gush and gush, like no one on the planet has been through them. it actually has to do with the fact that some of these gushers are people who are too cynical to think that life can be THAT GREAT before (surely they had friends who gushed and gushed?) and they are the ones who sometimes turned a deaf ear and pretended to listen to their gushing friends while secretly drumming their fingers under the diner's table until ..... it dawned on them that they could partake the wedding cake and still love it (buttercream frosting, not fondant please) and they can deliver a baby out of their loins and still, after months and months, marvel at the wisdom of nature. then these very people apologize endlessly for gushing about their newfound joy and for earning the bragging rights because their babies are simply tooooo cute!
that was a long preface .... what i wanted to say was "can you bear with me while i indulge you with our typical morning of smiles and squeals?"
p.s. cinnamon was just as excited... but we were too busy looking at christian to give her a belly rub. the predicament of a "firstborn". sniff.
