we are back. and christian was amazing on this trip. he slept well on our way there - got over jet lag really quickly in rotterdam, met up with my professors, did well on the social scene, won over the europeans (mostly italians) with his caro-ness, flight attendants swooned over him. but on the way back from milano, he refused to sleep despite being so tired. i don't know what his brain is made of and i don't know what sort of horsepower that machine up there has - he slept for a total of less-than-4 hours over 24 hours. and when he finally got home, he still had the energy to play with his toys. and form coherent expressions (for the record, he made his first sentence or as my mom said, his first "conjuction" by virtue of the fact he connected two "baby sentences" on his own: at the tour eiffel, he lost a shoe and while his eyes were fixated on cars on the street, he hugged me and told me "shoe shoe, no more").
we are still jetlagged, i think. at 2 am this morning, our whole family was up and picnicking in the living room....
i'm nursing a cold - so photos will have to wait...
