the jitters

it turns out that i plugged the microphone jack into the headphones outlet on my computer - which explains why i couldn't hear the sound from the video clip.

which in turn, demonstrates how out-of-sorts i am prior to the trip.

to summarize : the video clip worked fine. i spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get the sound to work which includes googling for some codec files etc.... christian was 4 months old (judging by his hairstyle)

it's not that i've not flown before. it's that this is the first time i'm flying with a close-to-15-month-year-old. it's a 12-13 hour flight. it's a 10-day trip and i'm nervous. besides that i have 2 papers to present, 1 paper to discuss and i'm feeling extremely insecure about my research RIGHT NOW.... argh!

i'm now in my office churning out summary statistics that should have been analyzed ages ago.... this is hard - juggling parenthood with work... the greatest challenge is to stay focus...

the best i could do is try not to be too hard on myself... if i embarass myself, it's not that i've not done it before....
